We have had a great couple of days here in Washington so far. The first day we went to the Air and Space Museum. Wow, what a place. We were there all day to see it all. We got back to the campground about 4PM. This campground has a great system for sightseeing. They have a bus that takes you to the Metro station. It takes about 20-25 minutes because it is a regular transit bus so has lots of stops. You then get on the subway and you are at the Mall area in about 25 minutes. When you come home you just reverse it. It cost us about $28.00 each for three days of unlimited travel. The museum was free except for the IMAX movie which was awesome. It was called The Fighter Pilot. The place is huge and has planes in it such as The Spirit of Saint Louis, the Apollo 18 Moon Lander, Military jets of all kinds and so on. Only 10% of what they have is here. The rest is at another facility at Dulles Airport which we won't get to see.

Yesterday we took the Tourmobile Tour which was an on and off narrated bus tour around the Mall and Arlington Cemetary. We went to the top of the Washington Monument. Wow, what a view from up there. You could see all the Mall sites ,White House, Pentagon, Lincoln Memorial, Capitol Building etc. You have to get a ticket which is free but it is timed so that tells you when you can go up. We got there about 10AM and we got an 11AM trip up. We stopped at the Lincoln Memorial. Rob wanted to sit in Abraham's lap but thought he might get arrested. HA. We saw the Vietnam Memorial also at this stop. There are lots of Robinsons and there were 14 Morses. We went on the Cemetary Tour at Arlinton and saw JFK's grave site and the eternal flame, the memorial for both the Challenger and Columbia crews, Reinquest's grave(the Justice of the Supreme Court who just died),the piolet whose plane was used to crash into the Pentagon, Audy Murphy who was America's most decorated soldier, etc. It was very hot yesterday so we didn't get off and on too often. We saw the rest of the sites from the bus.By the way the cost of this tour ticket was $20.00. A good deal.

Today we are heading for the Natural History Museum. It is a little rainy so I'm glad we are inside all day.

I'll blog in a couple of days and let you know what else we see.
